Here's a recipe for making pudding:
Ingredients:
2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional: chocolate, fruit, or other flavorings
Instructions:
1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
3. In a small bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Gradually whisk in about 1/2 cup of the hot milk mixture to temper the eggs.
4. Pour the tempered egg mixture back into the saucepan with the remaining milk mixture, whisking constantly.
5. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, for another 2-3 minutes, or until the pudding is thickened.
6. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
7. If desired, add chocolate, fruit, or other flavorings to the pudding.
8. Pour the pudding into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
