Arctic Fox

Arctic Fox (Vulpes lagopus), also known as the white fox, polar fox, or snow fox, is a small fox native to the Arctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere and known for its thick, warm fur that helps it to survive in cold climates. It's well-adapted to living in extreme cold environments.

The Arctic Fox's fur changes color with the seasons: it sports a white coat during winter to blend into the snow, and a brown or grey coat in summer months to match the tundra's rock and plants.

Classification of the Arctic Fox:

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Mammalia
Order: Carnivora
Family: Canidae
Genus: Vulpes
Species: V. lagopus

The Arctic Fox plays a crucial role in the tundra's ecosystem, acting as a predator and scavenger. It feeds on a wide variety of animals and plants, and its presence indicates the health of its arctic habitat.
